This training course is part of a more comprehensive programme called Manager in Mediative Communication.

This programme consists of 11 independent modules that can be taken individually as desired, but it can also be completed as a single course.

Objectives

The purpose of this module is to provide participants with a solid introduction to mediation and its underlying principles. Participants will gain an understanding of mediation as both a conflict prevention and conflict resolution method, while developing a first practical insight into the role of the mediator and the mediation process.

Following the programme's Tell–Show–Do methodology, the training combines theoretical input with practical exercises to enable participants to experience mediation in action.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this module, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the foundations and principles of mediation

  • Differentiate mediation from other conflict resolution mechanisms

  • Recognise the value of mediation in both preventive and curative contexts

  • Understand the mediator’s role, responsibilities, and ethical position

  • Identify the main phases of a mediation process

  • Apply the core attitudes required of a mediator, including empathy, acceptance, and congruence
