Investment Funds

The field of investment vehicles and managers covers investment funds and the professionals who manage them. Vehicles may take many legal forms, according to their characteristics: undertakings for collective investment in transferable securities, specialised investment funds, investment companies in risk capital, reserved alternative investment funds, etc.

The sector is regulated at the European and international level, and the corresponding regulations are subsequently transposed into Luxembourg law. Their application is supervised by the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier, Luxembourg's controlling authority. This is essential for the Grand Duchy, given the international distribution of the investment vehicles.

A multiplicity of issues

There are several issues facing the sector: the continuous increase in the regulatory obligations, particularly regarding cross-border distribution, constant pressure on margins, and the digitalisation of the sector, which alters whole areas of a mature value chain.

This new context directly impacts the needs and expectations of players in the sector in terms of continuing vocational training.

In response to the requirements of the main functions of the sector's operational fabric, and in collaboration with the Professional Training Committee of Luxembourg's investment fund association (Association Luxemburgeoise des Fonds d'Investissement - ALFI), we have developed a number of professional profiles and training topics.

Our programmes leading to a diploma, our certifying paths and our recommended training courses for specific professional profiles make it possible to structure a professional development plan. To allow more freedom of progression in your development plan, individual training courses may be selected from the recommendations and topics. This will enable you to choose more personalised training courses so that you can further develop certain key skills necessary for your professional activity.
