Description

Objectives

By the end of this training, the participant will be able to:

  1. Define:

    • Understand and explain the basic concepts of Operational Excellence (OpEx) and Lean Six Sigma.

    • Create a project charter for their own project.

    • Facilitate team meetings.

    • Apply basic and advanced problem-solving tools.

    • Implement visual management and standardized work.

    • Understand the principles of the Factory of the Future (FoF).

  2. Measure:

    • Collect the Voice of the Customer (VOC) and create a SIPOC diagram.

    • Map value streams and processes.

    • Plan data collection and apply basic statistics.

    • Conduct baseline and transactional studies.

    • Analyze and measure team dynamics.

  3. Analyze:

    • Utilize project management tools.

    • Validate data through Measurement System Analysis (MSA).

    • Apply control charts and hypothesis testing.

    • Conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).

    • Perform linear regressions and evaluate process capability.

  4. Improve & Control:

    • Design experiments and analyze their results.

    • Generate and implement improvement ideas for the FoF.

    • Establish control plans and error-proof processes (Poka Yoke).

    • Develop a roadmap for individual Operational Excellence.

These skills will enable participants to effectively contribute to continuous improvement and process optimization within their organization.

Programme

Session 1: Define

  • Day 1
    • Morning: Introduction to Operational Excellence (OpEx) and Lean Six Sigma, Project Charter, Project Charter creation for own project
    • Afternoon: 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, Discovery of the Factory of the Future (FoF). 
  • Day 2
    • Recap Day 1 and Agenda for Day 2.
    • Morning: Team Facilitation, Introduction to Problem Solving Basic Problem Solving tools
    • Afternoon: Advanced Problem Solving Tools, application on FoF. Voice of the Customer and SIPOC, Value Stream map, Outlook Session 2

Session 2: Measure & Analyze

  • Day 3
    • Recap Session 1 and Agenda for Day 3.
    • Morning: Process Map, Cause and Effect (C&E) Matrix, 
    • Afternoon: data collection planning, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis FMEA, Team Dynamics.
  • Day 4
    • Recap Day 3 and Agenda for Day 4.
    • Morning: Project Management, Basic Statistics, Change Management.
    • Afternoon: Baseline studies, Transactional studies and survey design, Outlook Session 3 

Session 3: Improve & Control

  • Day 5
    • Recap Session 2 and Agenda for Day 5.
    • Morning: Introduction to Control Charts, Application of control charts on FoF.
    • Afternoon: Process capability, Data Validation-Measurement System Analysis (MSA), MSA on FoF parts.
  • Day 6
    • Recap Day 5 and Agenda for Day 6.
    • Morning: Introduction to Hypothesis Testing, Linear Regression
    • Afternoon: Introduction to Creativity, Approaches to Process ImprovementsControl Plan

Each session includes recaps, quizzes, practical applications, and outlooks for subsequent sessions, ensuring a comprehensive understanding and hands-on experience of Lean Six Sigma methodologies on a real tea production line.
