Introduction
As financial markets continue to evolve, regulation plays a crucial role in fostering transparency, protecting investors and strengthening confidence in the financial system. In this increasingly demanding regulatory environment, financial institutions and their employees are expected to understand not only the rules that govern investment services but also the principles that underpin them. Developing a solid understanding of the regulatory landscape is essential to support compliant business practices, enhance client trust and navigate the challenges of today's financial markets with confidence.
Objectives
By the end of the training, the participant will be able to:
· Understand the objectives and key principles of the MiFID II regulatory framework.
· Identify the main stakeholders and activities within the scope of MiFID II.
· Explain the core requirements introduced by MiFID II for investment firms.
· Recognise the key investor protection and market transparency requirements.
· Understand the implications of MiFID II for financial institutions and investment services.
Programme
This informative session introduces the participants to the MiFID II framework, its origins and legal background as well as the key topics addressed by it. It also introduces the training programme objectives. The session further explains the need for MiFID II along with the measures that need to be implemented to meet the MiFID II requirements.
Target Audience
The persons concerned by the Training Programme are all persons placed under the authority of a professional (or acting on his behalf) subject to prudential supervision by the CSSF, i.e. individuals providing investment advice (“Advisory profile”) or information (“Information profile”) on financial instruments, investment services or ancillary services to clients.
