Emotional Intelligence Based on the EQ-i 2.0® Assessment

Personal Development

Description

Description

In today’s world, know-how (degrees, expertise, experience) is no longer enough to guarantee professional success.
It is now demonstrated that emotional intelligence helps to determine to what extent an individual will be able to leverage their capabilities. It has become a determining factor (over 60 %) in predicting personal and professional performance.

High emotional intelligence is now one of the essential competences for leaders and managers because it enables them to reduce turnover, foster employee engagement and creativity, and establish a collective dynamic. It is also a major asset for all employees, by strengthening their decision-making process, adaptability, learning capacity and stress resilience.

On a personal level, understanding and regulating one’s emotional states has a beneficial impact on well-being, the quality of relationships, and overall balance.

Based on the EQ-i 2.0® diagnostic tool (the most recognized in the world and scientifically validated), this training will establish a map of your emotional quotient and an action plan to develop your emotional competences, thereby constituting the prerequisites for taking control of your well-being and your individual and professional performance.

Objectives

By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  • Identify their emotional quotient, strengths, and development areas
  • Understand fundamental concepts related to emotional intelligence
  • Identify pathways to balance their emotional competences
  • Implement relevant strategies to improve their performance and well-being
Programme

EQ-i 2.0® diagnostic and 1-hour debriefing (prior to the training)

  • Based on an online questionnaire of 133 interrelated questions made available to each participant, an individual report is produced that offers a detailed analysis of the 15 emotional intelligence competences, along with avenues for development and action strategies. It gives a clear and constructive understanding of the results

  • An individual remote debriefing is organized, so each participant can appropriate their results

Two-day in-class training (group session)

  • Awareness of the concept of emotional intelligence

  • Experiential mini-workshops to raise awareness of the role and impact of emotions at both intrapersonal and interpersonal levels

  • Understanding at the neuronal level how emotions arise and the link between emotion and reasonExplanation and practical application of the 15 emotional competences from Reuven Bar-On’s model:

  • Self-perception (self-regard, self-actualization, emotional self-awareness)

  • Self-expression (emotional expression, assertiveness, independence)

  • Interpersonal (interpersonal relationships, empathy, social responsibility)

  • Decision making (problem solving, reality testing, impulse control)

  • Stress management (flexibility, stress tolerance, optimism)

  • Development of an individual action plan based on a selection of strategies (visualization technique, mission statement, prioritization, identification of felt emotions, etc.) to improve emotional intelligence

Target Audience
  • Anyone wishing to know their emotional quotient based on a proven, scientifically recognized diagnostic
  • Anyone ready to begin a personal development path grounded in emotional intelligence
  • Anyone, at any hierarchical level, wishing to develop their individual and/or professional performance as well as their well-being
  • Anyone wishing to identify and develop prerequisites necessary for implementing personal development strategies (self-confidence, self-motivation, welcoming & customer service, communication, stress management, leadership, conflict management, teamwork)
  • Anyone working in human resources departments wishing to integrate emotional intelligence into selection, retention, and competence development programs (e.g. as a complement to approaches such as DISC, Insights, Process Com, Enneagram)

Teaching Method
  • EQ-i 2.0® diagnostic and debrief session before the training. The EQ-i 2.0® diagnostic tool, being a scientific Type B instrument, will be administered and debriefed by a certified and accredited expert.
  • During the training, concepts will be illustrated in a pragmatic way, and participants will be immersed in a hands-on approach using mini-workshops (2 or 3 persons per group) during which they will have the opportunity to be sensitized and practice the different emotional intelligence concepts.
