Description

This certificate provides an overview, and discusses the details of, different alternative asset classes, including Private Equity, Venture Capital, Real Estate, Infrastructure and Private Debt, their strategies, actors, and structures, and how they’re applied. A general overview includes fundraising, typical transactions valuation, value creation, exit strategies and tax structuring, and will be followed by individual, in-depth lectures on different asset classes.
Practitioners such as fund managers, lawyers and auditors will participate in the course and give first-hand insight into their activity. The course facilitates a detailed discussion of the alternative asset universe, targeting financial sector professionals in Luxembourg or anyone looking to start a career in Private Equity and alternative asset classes.

Upon completion of this certificate, you will be awarded 15 ECTS credits recognized by the University of Liège. 

Objectives

Upon successful completion of this certificate, students should be prepared to either build or advance their careers in Private Equity and other alternative asset classes, such as Private Equity, Venture Capital, Real Estate, Infrastructure and Private Debt.
By covering all important aspects and asset classes, the course provides a broad understanding and in-depth knowledge about the industry.
Through the participation of experienced senior industry professionals, students receive practical first-hand knowledge, enabling them to understand the common links and to apply the course content in their next career step. 

Programme
Core Course​ (5 ECTS) :

Private Markets - 5 ECTS, 36 hours

And Electives to choose (Total of 10 ECTS) :

  • Financial Risk Management​ - 5 ECTS, 36 hours

  • Portfolio Management - 5 ECTS, 36 hours

  • Blockchain & Big Data - 5 ECTS, 36 hours

  • Corporate Finance - 5 ECTS, 36 hours

  • Sustainable Finance - 3 ECTS, 24 hours   


Target Audience

  • Professionals working in Luxembourg’s fund management, advisory, legal, and audit sectors.

  • Middle and back-office teams in investment funds or service providers.

  • Freelancers and consultants entering or developing in the local private equity ecosystem.


Certificate

Upon completion of the programme, participants will receive a University Certificate from the University of Liège.
