Description
Description
Cloud computing has become a cornerstone of digital transformation. From email and collaboration tools to infrastructure and business applications, organisations increasingly rely on cloud-based services to support their operations. Yet for many non-specialists, key concepts such as service models, deployment models and the shared responsibility model can remain unclear.
This half-day programme provides participants with the essential knowledge needed to understand the role of cloud computing within their professional environment. Through clear explanations and practical examples, they will gain a solid understanding of core cloud concepts, engage more effectively with IT teams and service providers, and identify both the opportunities and the key considerations associated with cloud adoption.
Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of how cloud technologies support business objectives and the critical factors to consider when using cloud services.
Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
Explain the fundamental concepts and essential characteristics of cloud computing.
Differentiate between cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS) and deployment models (public, private, hybrid and multi-cloud), and illustrate them with practical examples.
Identify key cloud providers and recognise common business use cases.
Understand the shared responsibility model and the respective roles of cloud providers and customers.
Assess the main benefits of cloud adoption, including agility, scalability and cost optimisation.
Recognise key considerations and potential risks associated with cloud computing, such as security, vendor lock-in and data sovereignty.
