Introduction

Corporate Finance is key in creating value in an organisation and has an impact at many levels. It is critical for Finance/Accounting and Corporate Treasury professionals to understand how the financial strategy of their organisation is cascading down and how they can contribute.

This module is part of the certified path "International Treasury Management and Corporate Finance - Fundamentals". It can also be taken independently.

Objectives

Upon completion of this introductory course, participants should be able to:

  • Understand what Corporate Finance is and how it can add value to an organisation

  • Understand how financial statements analysis tools contribute to financial planning

  • Have an insight on how Debt and Equity are managed in organisations

  • Be familiar with the way organisations finance their subsidiaries

  • Be aware of valuation and investment appraisal techniques, especially in the context of investment projects

  • For all of the above, understand how Finance/Accounting and Corporate Treasury staff can contribute at all levels of the organisation.
